Pflugerville ISD Superintendent Dr. Shepherd was featured as a guest speaker at the Austin Chamber of Commerce's annual State of Talent and Education luncheon on September 5. The event, which brought together key leaders and stakeholders from across Central Texas, focused on current trends in education and workforce development, emphasizing partnerships between schools, employers, and city-driven initiatives.
Parmer Lane Elementary School proudly launched its first Brighter Bites event earlier this month. It became the inaugural campus in Pflugerville ISD (PfISD) to bring this impactful nutrition program to its families. The event served approximately 150 families, and the school provided fresh fruits and vegetables to promote healthier eating choices and foster a stronger community connection.
PfISD is excited to accept a $20,000 donation from the Assistance League of Austin toward student lunch debt.
A labor crisis looms as scores of water operators are expected to retire in three to five years. But Pflugerville ISD hopes to change that as it becomes the first district in the state to launch a new water operator training program.
